Cops reveal crimes for which slain gangster, Pinky, was wanted

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a top-tier member of the MS-13 Gang based in Granville, St James, was wanted for murder and other crimes at the time police fatally shot him during a confrontation in his community yesterday, March 21.

He is 32-year-old Amoy Young, otherwise called Pinky, from Gordon Crescent in Granville.

A Browning Single Action 9 millimetre pistol, with a magazine containing two 9 millimetre cartridges, was seized in the incident, the JCF said.

It further stated that Young was wanted for:

  • Illegal Possession of Ammunition, following an incident at Retirement district, Granville, on August 9, 2018;
  • Burglary, Sexual Grooming, Assaulting a Female, and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm committed on December 16, 2018 at Barrett Town in St James;
  • Murder of Ronald Samuels committed on May 2, 2018 on Gordon Crescent in Granville;
  • Wounding with Intent of Dwayne Maxwell committed on December 15, 2018 at Retirement in Granville.

The Inspectorate of the Constabulary is investigating the fatal shooting, which also has been reported to the Independent Commission of Investigations.
