The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a team of officers from the Area 3 Major Investigation Division has charged a Clarendon bus conductor with three counts of murder.

He is also charged with two counts of shooting with intent, illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, and malicious destruction of property.

He is 29-year-old Ronoi Boreland, otherwise called ‘Lenky’ and ‘Rasta’, from Sunrise Road in Sandy Bay, Clarendon.

He is charged with the murder of 18-year-old Kevon Reece who was otherwise called ‘Boysie’ from Inverness Drive in Sandy Bay, Clarendon; 52-year-old farmer Warren Douglas from Round Bushy Park in St. Catherine; and 29-year-old Avanna Baddal also from St. Catherine.

The JCF said: “Reports from the May Pen Police are that, on Sunday, September 1, 2018, about 8PM, Reece, Douglas and Baddal were among two other persons at a shop when they were pounced upon by Boreland and two other men armed with handguns and high powered weapons, who opened fire hitting all five persons.

“The police were alerted and they (the wounded men) were taken to hospital where Reece, Douglas and Baddal died while being treated, and the other two men admitted for treatment,” the JCF further said.

It stated that an intense investigation was launched and Boreland was arrested and placed before an identification parade, where he was positively identified and later charged.

His court date is yet to be announced.
