Chang says ‘much’ of Moneague College to be used for police training

Minister of National Security Dr Horace Chang said the government is seeking to take over ‘much’ of Moneague College in St Ann to provide what he called advanced training for members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

“We are looking at how we can ensure we can train our police officers to the highest level,” he said.

“We are already seeking to take over much of the Moneague Teachers College to have advanced training for police officers.”

The minister, who was speaking last evening (June 21) at a Crime and Security Forum in St Catherine, did not elaborate on the arrangement being made with the college.

He however emphasized that Government is interested in training for cops; not only in providing more tangible resources such as motor vehicles and improved police stations.
