Woman dies in Rio Cobre river

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said 22-year-old Rasheda Forrest from Franklyn Town in Kingston 16 is suspected to have drowned in the Rio Cobre river at Gordon Pen, Spanish Town, St Catherine.

It said: “Reports from the Spanish Town Police are that, about 2pm yesterday (December 23), Forrest was swimming in a section of the river when she encountered difficulties and drowned. The police were summoned, and her body was fished from the water and removed to the morgue.”

Investigations are continuing, added the JCF.
