WATCH: I love people; I love Lluidas Vale

Verna White-Brown, who retired in June after serving rural Jamaica for 47 years, was virtually floored by a surprise presentation made to her on 20 October 2018 at the Lluidas Vale Seventh Day Adventist Church, St Catherine.

During her tenure as a registered midwife at Lluidas Vale Health Centre, she delivered more than 3,000 babies, supervised many nurses, and attended to mothers in deep rural communities.

In an impromptu response to the glowing tributes and gifts she received from residents of Lluidas Vale, Nurse White-Brown declared her love for people. “I love people. I work for people whether they are rich – whether they are poor. I work for them and I love them,” she said.
