The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a man who is suspected of mowing down a group of persons on Regent Street, Kingston, turned himself in at Central Police Station about mid-day yesterday, October 1.

“The suspect will be questioned in the presence of his lawyer,” the JCF said, adding that investigations are continuing.

The JCF also stated that, based on reports, a group of persons was standing along the roadway about 11:20pm, when the driver of a motor car allegedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the group.

The victims were taken to hospital where two died while being treated. They are 17-year-old Shanedee Farquharson and 29-year-old Tarick Dawkins, both from Kingston.

The JCF added that three of the victims were admitted to hospital in serious but stable condition, and one was treated and released.
