Detectives in Trelawny have made an appeal for the driver of a motorcar involved in a hit-and-run incident on Salt Marsh main road in the parish yesterday, September 28, to come forward.

Reports from the Falmouth Police are that, about 7:30pm, 25-year-old Rick Nelson, a woodcarver from Salt Marsh, was walking along the roadway.

He was hit by a grey Honda CRV motorcar that did not stop, the police said.

Nelson was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The JCF said: “Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is being urged to call the Falmouth Police at 954-3271 or the Police 119 emergency number. Persons may also give information by using the Stay Alert application.”
