Taxi operator fatally stabbed during dispute with girlfriend

Detectives in Portland are probing the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of a man at his home today, December 24, said the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).

The deceased is 36-year-old taxi operator Michael Sewell from Drapers district, Portland.

The JCF said: “Reports from the Port Antonio Police are that, about 2:30am, Sewell and his female companion were involved in a dispute when a knife was used to stab him. The police were alerted, and he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.”

It’s understood that the common-law-wife was taken into custody.
