Police said a suspect has been taken into custody as they intensify their probe into the circumstances under which Dancehall artiste Mavado was prompted to flee the Cassava Piece community of St Andrew amid a hail of bullets on Saturday morning, June 2.

The artiste, whose real name is David Brooks, is native of the community, but he has been living outside for many years.

The Corporate Communications Unit of the Jamaica Constabulary Force said reports are that Mavado and another person has an argument on Saturday morning.

The person left the community and later returned with a group of men.
