St James man killed in hit-and-run in Hanover

Police said a construction worker from Granville in St James died yesterday (February 10) as a result of injuries he sustained in a hit-and-run at Johnson Town, Hanover.

He has been identified as Gareth Arnold, 39.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said: “Reports from the Lucea Police are that, about 2:30pm, Arnold was in the vicinity of a bridge in the area when he attempted to cross the road, during which he was hit by a motorcycle. Arnold was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.”

Investigations are continuing, added the JCF.
