Riches to rags – Former MP who dies was in home for the elderly

Concerns are being raised about the welfare of elected officials who served in high government positions amid reports that a former politician had become destitute before he died recently.

The politician, highly placed sources said, was living in a home for the elderly at the time he died.

“He was very ill and had become poor and destitute; it is a very sad situation,” one source said.

The Beacon is, at this time, withholding the politician’s name.
