Cop kills auditor at party

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a 30-year-old auditor, Navardo Dennis, was fatally shot in his community during a confrontation with a police officer at Island Farm in St Catherine last night, March 18.

Details of the incident are still sketchy.

The JCF, through its Corporate Communications Unit, late this afternoon, stated that Dennis was shot when he attacked a police officer and stabbed him with a knife.

Reports from other sources are that Dennis and a woman were at a party in the said community when an altercation developed between them.

The off-duty police officer reportedly intervened, and eventually shot Dennis, who later was pronounced dead at Spanish Town Hospital. Dennis worked at the Tax Office in Spanish Town.

The Independent Commission of Investigations is probing the matter.
