Minor charged for murder in St Ann

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a 17-year-old boy from Bellfield district in Runaway Bay, St. Ann, has been charged with murder.

His name has not been released because he is a minor.

The JCF said: “Reports from the Runaway Bay Police are that, about 8:50AM on Friday, November 8, nineteen-year-old Okar Campbell was among a group of persons that went to pick ackees in the community.

“An argument reportedly developed between Campbell and the teen, and the teenager allegedly stabbed Campbell in the upper body. Campbell was pronounced dead at hospital,” the JCF further said.

It noted that a court date will be announced later.
