A young man is dead and two other persons hospitalized in serious condition following a motor vehicle collision on the Melrose Bypass in Williamsfield, Manchester, last evening, December 18.

The deceased is 19-year-old Brian Knight from Hanbury Road in Mandeville, Manchester.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said: “Reports from the Porus Police are that, about 6:30pm, Knight was the driver of a Toyota Passo motorcar travelling with two other passengers heading towards Williamsfield, when he allegedly tried to negotiate a corner, lost control of the vehicle, and collided with an International motor truck which was travelling in the opposite direction.

“The three occupants of the motorcar were taken to hospital where Knight was pronounced dead and a male and female admitted in serious condition,” added the JCF, which noted that investigations are continuing.
