Man charged for murder of MP
March 1, 2019The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said 21-year-old Simeon Anthony Sutherland from Buff Bay in Portland has been charged with the murder of Dr Lynvale Bloomfield, Member of Parliament for Portland Eastern.
The charge was laid following a question and answer session with investigators on March 1.
A date is yet to be announced for Sutherland to appear in court.

Dr Bloomfield’s nude body was found in his house at Paisley Gardens in Portland about 10:30 on the morning of February 2.
It had several stab wounds.
Police picked up and interrogated the suspect, but later released him.
He was re-arrested after additional evidence allegedly connected him to murder scene.
