Man arrested after murder with board

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said detectives assigned to the St Elizabeth Police Division have taken a man into custody in relation to a murder in Nain, St Elizabeth, on Tuesday, February 19.

Dead is farmer Douglas Wint from Gazeland district in Nain.

The JCF said: “Reports from the Nain Police are that, about 11:30am, Wint and a relative had an altercation when a piece of board was used to hit him on the head.

“The police were alerted and he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The relative has been subsequently taken into custody, however his identity is being withheld pending further investigations,” added the JCF. File photo.
