LLUIDAS VALE: JPS pole scares residents of Pennington

April 1, 2019 0 By Horace Mills

Residents of Pennington district in the Lluidas Vale area of St Catherine said a fragile utility pole in the most central area of their community has left them living in fear.

They told The Beacon that they have made several complaints to employees of the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) that is responsible for the pole, which now stands on a significantly undermined base.

The residents however stated that JPS workers have adopted a nonchalant approach.

The utility pole, pictured above, stands precariously beside commercial buildings in the community’s square.

Residents fear that, if it falls, it may cause severe damage to property or loss of lives.
