Licensed firearm holder foils robbery | 2 gunmen nabbed

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a licensed firearm holder nabbed two would-be robbers, adding that a firearm was also seized during the attempted robbery on Molynes Road in Kingston 10 on Thursday, July 5.

It explained that, according to the Half Way Tree police, three men allegedly attempted to rob persons at a plaza about 11:55am.

The licensed firearm holder challenged them.

“Two [of the men] were subsequently shot and injured and the third man escaped in the area,” the JCF said.

“The police were summoned and the injured men taken to hospital where they were admitted under police guard.”

The JCF also indicated that its officers found one .38 Smith and Wesson revolver with three .38 cartridges at the scene.

Investigations are continuing.
