The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said its officers in St Thomas have charged two construction workers with Robbery with Aggravation following the robbery of a female on Belvedere main road in Morant Bay.

The incident took place on Saturday, June 15.

Those charged are 30-year-old Andre Marriott from Harriman Close in Kingston 6, and 22-year-old Ritchie Grant from Mills Borough in the Barbican area of Kingston 8.

The JCF said: “Reports are that, about 9:55AM, Marriott and Grant were travelling in a motor vehicle which was being operated as a taxi. The men picked up a woman and, on reaching a section of the roadway, held her up with knives and stole her purse containing numerous documents, two cellular phones and other personal belongings.

“The men were subsequently arrested during another robbery attempt in Kingston. They were positively identified at an identification parade and later charged. Their court date will be announced at a later date,” the JCF added.
