Jamaican barber killed in Florida months after brother

A man originally from St John, which is located at the border of St Catherine and Clarendon, was shot dead during an altercation at his workplace in Florida this afternoon, July 23.

He is Barrington Francis, a barber.

Francis was among persons who flew to Jamaica earlier this year to bury his brother, Gregory Seville. Seville was among two Jamaicans who died in a motorcycle crash in Florida. He was also a barber.

In relation to the murder today, police in Florida report that the victim and the shooter got into an altercation at a barbershop at 6017 Sunrise Blvd.

That’s when the shooter allegedly pulled a gun and shot the Jamaican.

The shooter is in police custody.
