The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said the suspect in the murder of District Constable Melissa Edwards-Whyte on Saturday, September 29, has surrendered.

The JCF had listed the suspect, 53-year-old Barrington Whyte, as a Person of Interest.

He is also called Barry and Drop, and is a resident of Farmbrook Avenue in Kingston 20 and Santa Hill district in Manchester.

“Whyte turned himself in to the Police early this morning with his attorney,” the JCF said.

It previously stated that the law enforcer assigned to Crime Stop was chopped and killed during a domestic dispute at her home in Duhaney Park, St Andrew, about 9pm on Saturday.
