Gunman shoots group, kills schoolgirl

A gunman shot four persons – killing one of them on Bowens Road in Kingston 13 last evening, January 6, said the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).

The deceased is 14-year-old Shanique Clarke, a student of Lyndhurst Road, Kingston 5.

The JCF said: “Reports from the Hunts Bay Police are that, about 10:55pm, Shanique was among a group of persons at a premises when they were pounced upon by a lone gunman who opened fire hitting them. The police were alerted and they were taken to hospital where Shanique was pronounced dead and the others were admitted for treatment.”

Investigations are ongoing.
