A once budding Dancehall artiste was shot dead before dawn today, July 20, after she allegedly launched a vicious attack on a licensed firearm holder during a domestic dispute.

The deceased is Keneisha Brown, otherwise called Keshan, 24, from Hibiscus Drive in Marlie Mount, Old Harbour, St Catherine. The incident took place at Sharper Lane, Old Harbour.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force said: “Reports are that, about 12:45AM, Brown was shot after she threw several stones in the licensed firearm holder’s car; she attacked and stabbed him three times. He discharged one round from his weapon which hit Brown to the upper body. She was taken to hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.”

Brown, a few years ago, was upbeat about making a huge impact on the Dancehall scene, having released songs that got regular airplay.

She also collaborated with incarcerated Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel on songs such a Bubble Up Yuh Body.

Her other songs included Need Your Love, Walk Out and Tricks Are For Kids.

Brown had stated that she ventured into music after graduating from Old Harbour High School in 2010.
