Cops find gun during operation at Linstead restaurant

A farmer has been taken into custody in relation to the seizure of an illegal firearm at Linstead in St Catherine about 1:30 yesterday afternoon, according to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).

Its Corporate Communications Unit told The Beacon that law enforcers, during an operation, found the weapon in a restaurant on Royal Avenue.

The Detonics 9 millimetre pistol was seized along with one magazine and fifteen 9 millimetre cartridges, the police said.

The JCF yesterday numbered the gun among 15 firearms found across the island within a three-day period.
