The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said its officers in Clarendon arrested and charged a man 24 hours after the body of a murdered Kingston woman was discovered in bushes along Sevens Road in the parish.

Residents found the decomposing body of Nadia Nicholson about 3:30PM yesterday, November 26.

The accused, 31-year-old Simester Ellis, otherwise called ‘National’, from Bucks Common district in Clarendon, was charged with murder.

He was picked up when investigations led detectives to his home, where ‘several items of probative value were seized’, the JCF said.

It stated that Ellis was charged after being interviewed in the presence of his attorney.

Clarendon’s crime officer, Deputy Superintendent Anglin, who led the investigative team, said the officers worked tirelessly following up on leads and completing the necessary paperwork to lay the charges.

“They showed true commitment to their oath of office and to the people of Jamaica,” he added.
