Boy chased, caught with loaded gun

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a teenager is facing charges under the Firearms Act following his arrest in connection with the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition at Beverly Flats in Newlands, Portmore, St Catherine, yesterday, June 8.

The JCF said: “Reports from the Portmore Police are that, about 9:45PM, during a police/military operation, the teenager was seen sitting on a bench.

“He reportedly ran when approached by the police. However, he was pursued and caught. He was searched and one .357 Magnum revolver, containing six .38 rounds of ammunition, was taken from his waistband. He was subsequently arrested. His identity is being withheld,” added the JCF.

Investigations are continuing.
