Bank teller among 2 charged for gun in Spanish Town

Police said they arrested and charged two men in connection with a firearm and ammunition seizure on Lauriston Drive in Spanish Town, St Catherine, on Thursday, November 22.

Those charged are: 24-year-old bank teller James Taylor from Ensom Mews in St Catherine and 21-year-old upholsterer Andrew Thomas from Rio Cobre Drive in the parish.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said: “Reports from the Spanish Town police are that, about 5:20pm, lawmen were conducting operations in the area when they signalled the driver of a Nissan Sunny motor car to stop. He complied…

“One 12-gauge shotgun containing three 12-gauge cartridges was found in the trunk of the vehicle. Both men were subsequently arrested and charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition,” added the JCF.

It said a court date will be announced.
