The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said unknown assailants shot and killed 34-year-old construction worker Omar Johnson in his community of Peyton Place in August Town, St Andrew, this morning, January 1.

It said: “Reports from the Half Way Tree Police are that, about 8:55am, Johnson was walking along the Mentio roadway when two men armed with guns opened gunfire hitting him to the upper body. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.”

Investigations are continuing.
