The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a motor vehicle collision claimed the life of a man on the Aenon Town main road in Manchester yesterday, January 18.

The deceased is 30-year-old construction worker Leroy Campbell from Cufferidge district, St Ann. He is pictured above.

The JCF said: “Reports from the Spaulding Police are that, about 2:30pm, Campbell was a pillion passenger on a Zhujiang motorcycle.

“On reaching a section of the roadway, the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and collided with a Toyota Probox which was travelling in the opposite direction. Both men sustained injuries and were taken to hospital where Campbell was pronounced dead and the other man was admitted for treatment,” the JCF further said.

It noted that investigations are continuing.

Campbell is at least the third young man from St Ann to have died in a motor vehicle accident since the start of the year.

On January 3, twenty-six-year-old mechanic Jerome Hall from Keith district in Brown’s Town, was killed and another man injured in a motor vehicle collision on the Discovery Bay main road in St Ann.
