80-year-old man from Burnt Savannah dies in hit-and-run

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a pensioner from Burnt Savannah, Westmoreland, died from injuries received in a motor vehicle crash along the Greenfield main road in the parish today, July 28.

He is 80-year-old Uriah Williams.

The JCF said: “Reports from the Frome Police are that, about 12:15am, Williams was walking along the road, when he was allegedly hit by a motor vehicle that did not stop. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.”

Investigations are continuing, added the police.
