The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said its officers are still searching for two of four men who escaped custody at the Cross Roads Police Station lock-ups yesterday, June 20.
Those still on the run are:
1) Nineteen-year-old Eustace Powell from Lincoln Road in Kingston 5. He is charged with rape and buggery.
2) Twenty-nine year-old Sanjay Burton, otherwise called ‘Christopher Peart’ or ‘Michael’, from Tavern Avenue in Kingston 6. He was in custody on fraud-related charges.
The two men recaptured are:
1) Twenty-one-year-old Rohan Brown, who was charged with robbery. He was recaptured on Olympic Way, Kingston 11.
2) Twenty-three year-old Richard Walker, who was charged with rape and buggery, was held on Diamond Road in Kingston 11.
The JCF said the men were discovered missing during a cell check about 6:50pm yesterday. They reportedly escaped by cutting through a metal grill.
The Inspectorate of the Constabulary has commenced a probe into the incident.
The JCF further stated that anyone with information that can lead to the recapture of Powell and Burton should contact the Half Way Tree police at 926-8184, Crime Stop at 311, police 119 emergency number, or the nearest police station.
“The police are also reminding the public that it is a criminal offence to harbour a fugitive,” the JCF noted.
