2 illegal guns, man hiding in cellar found

A team of police and soldiers seized two firearms, along with 41 rounds of ammunition, during an operation along Bryden Street in Kingston 16 yesterday, November 20.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said: “Reports are that the team conducted searches in a number of premises in the area when a Taurus 9 millimetre pistol, along with a magazine containing twenty-one 9 millimetre ammunition, was seized.

“In another premises, a second firearm – one black Springfield XDM pistol with a magazine containing twenty 9 millimetre rounds, was seized and a man who was found hiding under a cellar taken into custody,” added the JCF.

It stated that the identity of the man in custody is being withheld pending further investigations.
