10-year-old dies of gunshot wound to head in Old Harbour Bay

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is investigating the death of a 10-year-old resident of Dagger Bay in Old Harbour Bay, St Catherine, who was found with a gunshot wound to the head yesterday, December 7.

He has been identified as Leon Whittingham.

The JCF said: “Reports are that, about 4:30pm, Leon was at home with family when an explosion was heard. He was found with a gunshot wound to the left side of the head and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“The scene was processed and one 9 millimetre round of ammunition was taken from the scene. No one has been arrested in connection with the incident,” added the JCF.
