The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said fire, suspected to be the work of arsonists, destroyed a nine-apartment house in Bastard Cedar Walk, Petersfield, Westmoreland.

The incident happened this week, about 10:55pm on June 21.

The JCF said reports are that: “Three family members were at home when men were observed trying to gain entry to their home.”

“The family reportedly escaped and alerted the police, after which fire was seen coming from the house,” added the JCF.

Personnel from Savanna-la-Mar Fire Department responded and carried out cooling down operations.

The JCF said loss is estimated at JA$10 million, and no one was injured in the blaze. File photo
