The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a woman has been hospitalized after sustaining several gunshot wounds last evening during a roadblock at Top Hill district, Lluidas Vale, St Catherine.

Her husband with whom she was travelling escaped unharmed.

The JCF said: “A woman was shot and injured about 9:15PM. She and her husband were travelling along the roadway when they realized that the roadway was blocked by logs and other items.

“While in the process of reversing the vehicle, gunmen opened gunfire at them, hitting the woman several times. She was taken to hospital where she is admitted. The man did not receive any gunshot wounds,” the JCF further said.
