A sugar cane worker employed to the Worthy Park Sugar Estate in Lluidas Vale, St Catherine, died in a motorcycle incident today, March 31.

His co-workers identify him as 61-year-old Kingsley George Williams, otherwise called Chrome Bar.

They said he lived on the sugar estate where he had been working for about three years, but he originally is from elsewhere in St Catherine.

When Jamaica Beacon contacted the Jamaica Constabulary Force for information hours after the incident, it stated that officers at Shady Grove Police Station in Lluidas Vale were yet to visit the accident scene.

Details of how the tragedy unfolded are still sketchy.

The motorcycle that crashed

Some of Williams’ co-workers said the victim had left work for the day and had gone to a nearby shop to purchase groceries.

While he was returning to his living quarters on the sugar estate, he allegedly lost control of the motorcycle, fell, and died.

The accident happened on a roadway that runs through the estate, residents further told Jamaica Beacon.
