The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a 65-year-old man was shot dead at his home shortly before 9 o’clock last evening, July 17, in the Savannah area of Wakefield, Linstead, St Catherine.

He is Samuel Henry, a shopkeeper also known as Balen.

The JCF told The Beacon: “Henry was standing outside his home when two armed men allegedly approached and opened fire, hitting him.”

He was taken to Linstead Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The shooters escaped.

Meanwhile, photos captured at the murder scene show Henry lying on his back with a pool of blood concentrated on the ground near his head.

The grocery shop he operates is located at the front of his residence.

The Beacon is yet to ascertain the reason for the murder.
