McGrath High School has taken an early lead in Group 4 of the ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup Football Competition.

It was the only team in the Group that secured victory yesterday, October 22, amassing three points.

Happy Grove High School, which was defeated by McGrath, is yet to gain a point.

The other two teams in the Group – St Elizabeth Technical and BB Coke – are on one point apiece after both teams ended their match 0-0.

Tyrese Wright, who netted the ball that sent McGrath to the top of the Group, said he feels ‘amazing’ to have made a big impact on the game.

“The game was not too bad; we could have done better. We got some changes and did not put them away,” added the 16-year-old resident of Time and Patience district in Linstead, St Catherine.

He is hoping that his school, which is passing the first round for the first time, will win the big cup.
