Alexia Jones, who resides in the Orangefield area of Linstead, St Catherine, has given her family and friends a reason to celebrate.

She has reaped success in eight CSEC subjects, administered by the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC).

Alexia attained Grade Ones (the highest grade possible) in six subjects – English A, Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Biology, Spanish and Principles of Business.

The other two subjects in which she was successful are English B and Chemistry.

Alexia, who attended Westwood High School in Trelawny, wants to become a pathologist or a veterinarian.

She told The Beacon that her success was motivated by her strong support base, her hard work, and her unwavering faith in God.

Alexia, who is a past-student of Mickleton Preparatory School, intends to attend sixth form at Charlemont High School in Linstead.
