Cops confirm suspected suicide involving politician’s son

The Constabulary Communications Unit of the police force said the Bog Walk police in St Catherine has confirmed the suspected suicide of Kemar Abrahams, who is the son of Jamaica Labour Party Councillor for the Bog Walk Division Peter Abrahams.

The Unit however stated that the Bog Walk police, up to publication time, was unable to provide details of what unfolded.

Sources however stated that a gun was used.

The death has sparked widespread shock and grief especially among young people in the Linstead and Bog Walk areas.

Social media is also awash with persons eulogizing young Abrahams as someone who was amiable and positive.

He has a son and wife, and is a past-student of Dinthill Technical High School in Linstead, St Catherine.

Meanwhile, the father of the deceased was charged a few days ago with negligent treatment of a licensed firearm after his gun was found in a motorcar in which a number of men were travelling. The father was not in the vehicle at the time.
