The community of Cassava Pond in Ewarton, St Catherine, is still trying to come to terms with the murder of a loved-one whose funeral arrangements now have been announced.

Rojay Edwards, 26, will be laid to rest on Sunday, September 1, following a funeral service scheduled to start 2PM inside Ewarton Gospel Lighthouse Church, which is located at 11 Clark’s Avenue in Ewarton.

Edwards was shot dead on June 12 in the parish of Trelawny where he was employed on a construction site.

The murder however transpired at Cooper’s Pen district – not on the construction site.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said: “Reports from the Falmouth Police are that, about 2AM, residents heard explosions and alerted them. On their arrival and search of the area, Edwards was discovered with gunshot wounds to the body. The scene was processed and the body was removed to the morgue pending post mortem.”

Investigations are continuing, added the JCF.

Edwards, who was a bike fanatic, is survived by his parents and siblings.
