Kingston boy scores 96 percent average in GSAT

Jaden Phillips was six months old when his father passed away.

His mother Trishana Deleon and maternal grandmother Andrea Crosdale knew they had to pull together to make the young man the best version of himself.

They now beam with pride.

Their 11-year-old aspiring lawyer has passed his Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) with flying colours.

He scored 93 percent in Communication Task, 95 percent in Language Arts, 96 percent in Math, 98 percent in Science, and 98 percent in Social Studies.

Such exceptional performance is not a shocker to Jaden’s grandmother.

“His performance wasn’t a shock for us,” she said, adding that Jaden will attend Kingston College in September.

“He got his school of choice. That is what makes up our boy. He wanted to go to Kingston College from he was four years old.”

Jaden attends Alpha Primary, where his GSAT teacher is Joan Green-Garison. He is grateful to all who have helped to mould him.

The young scholar, who hails from McIntyre Villa in East Kingston, promised to continue making his people and country proud.

“I will Keep up my grades and try to top the whole Grade Seven block at Kingston College,” he declared, adding that he studied hard for what he already achieved academically.

“I prepared by studying hard, looking over test papers, and reading a lot of books. I truly feel wonderful about my performance in GSAT,” Jaden further said.
