Hotel worker charged for allegedly raping 2 tourists

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said detectives in St James have laid criminal charges against a 24-year-old Jamaican man who allegedly raped two female tourists who are from the United States.

The alleged incident happened at Riu Reggae Hotel in Montego Bay, St James, on Thursday, September 27.

The accused is Demar Dowe Scott, otherwise called Ninja, an entertainment coordinator from Comfort district in Manchester.

According to the JCF, he has been charged with:

– Illegal possession of firearm

– Illegal possession of ammunition

– Assault with Intent to rob (two counts)

– Rape (two counts)

– Grievous sexual assault (two counts)

The JCF further said allegations are that, about 11:15pm, Scott forcibly entered the hotel room of two females, brandished a firearm, and sexually assaulted the two women.

“It is reported that one of the women relieved him of the weapon and shot him before he escaped. Following investigations, Scott was arrested and subsequently charged,” the JCF said.

Scott, who was captured while nursing a gunshot wound in Clarendon, is scheduled to appear in the St James Parish Court on Wednesday, October 10.
