Former hotel general manager now charged for financial crimes

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said the Greek national, who is also a former general manager of an all-inclusive hotel in Trelawny, has been charged with various financial crimes.

Dimitris Cosvogiannis was arrested shortly after he arrived at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston yesterday, July 16.

He has been charged with Obtaining Credit by False Pretence, as well as for breaches of the Revenue Administration Act.

Cosvogiannis is accused of acquiring several credit facilities from two major banking institutions, using different Taxpayer Registration Numbers and names.

Those activities go as far back as 2010.

The JCF said a court date will be announced.

Cosvogiannis, who the police said is the holder of a Jamaican and an American passport, is a fomer employee of Melia Braco Village Resort.
