The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said its investigators arrested a district constable assigned to the St Catherine South Police Division in connection with two stolen motor cars yesterday, July 18.

It said: “Reports are that, about 2:30pm, the driver of a Nissan Tiida motor car was stopped on the East West Toll Road in St Catherine. His vehicle was examined and discovered to be stolen. Further checks revealed that the driver allegedly bought the car from the district constable.”

Investigators later summoned the district constable.

“The district constable arrived at the station in a Toyota Axio motorcar. That car too was checked by the investigators and was found to be stolen from Westmoreland,” added the JCF.

The district constable was taken into custody.

The Inspectorate of Constabulary and the St Catherine South Police are investigating.
