British national found with cocaine valued at JA$5M

A British national allegedly held at Norman Manley International Airport with cocaine valued at approximately JA$5 million is to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Thursday, November 15.

Lloyd Hewitt, 62, from London in England was arrested after the four kilograms of cocaine was found on Wednesday, November 7.

The JCF said: “Reports are that, about 6:45pm, Hewitt was in the process of boarding a flight destined for London when security checks of his luggage were conducted. During the search, the illicit drug concealed in coffee and seasoning packets, was found.”

Police took Hewitt into custody and charged him with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine and attempting to export cocaine.
