The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said two persons were murdered in separate incidents in Hanover yesterday, July 28.

One of the incidents happened at River Road district and the other at Logwood.

In the incident at Logwood, 27-year-old Patroy Smith, otherwise called Pauna, who is a bar owner from Logwood, was shot dead.

The JCF said: “Reports from the Lucea police are that, about 12:30pm, Smith was standing outside his bar when a grey Toyota Axio motorcar drove up and men armed with guns alighted. The men opened gunfire hitting him to the upper body.”

“The police were summoned and he was taken to hospital where death was confirmed,” added the JCF, which noted that investigations are continuing.

Mutilated body

Meanwhile, 25-year-old Keniel Hall from Rejoin district was beheaded by a relative at River Road.

The JCF explained: “Reports from the Lucea police are that, about 9am, Hall went to visit his relative after calls to his telephone went unanswered.

“While at the relative’s house, an altercation developed during which a machete was used to chop Hall several times. His head was also severed. The police were alerted and, on their arrival, the scene was processed and the mutilated body removed. Investigations continue,” the JCF further said.
