The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said its officers seized more than 2,000 pounds of ganja in the Calabash Bay area of St Elizabeth yesterday, June 25.

“Reports from the Pedro Plains police are that, about 2pm, police officers attached to the Area Three Narcotics Team conducted an operation on a beach in the community,” the JCF said.

“During the search, over 50 bags containing parcels of compressed ganja were found in an abandoned boat. It is estimated that the drug would have fetched over JA$10 million, had it been sold on the streets.”

The JCF further stated that no one was arrested in connection with the seizure, but the investigation is ongoing. File photo.
